Frequently Asked Questions

Is DinkLink like a dating app?

Not exactly. It’s more like a presence app that helps you discover interesting people nearby—whether for dating, friendship, collaboration, or conversation. DinkLink is open-ended by design.

Why can’t I message people?

Because you’re already in the same space. Messaging within the app would only add complexity and risk. DinkLink encourages real-life interaction—no inbox, no unwanted texts, just presence and potential.

Does DinkLink track my location?

No. It only uses Bluetooth to detect proximity. There’s no GPS, no internet sync, no cloud database—everything happens locally on your device.

Who can see my profile?

Only people nearby who are also using the app. You decide what to broadcast and when. Nothing is shared unless you choose to share it.

How does Game Mode work?

Game Mode hides names and shows only clues—like age, interests, gender, and rough distance. It’s a playful way to help users explore their environment and strike up conversations in person.

What happens when I leave the room?

You disappear. DinkLink is ephemeral by design. Once you close the app or leave Bluetooth range, your presence fades and your information is gone. No trail. No memory.

Can I use DinkLink without internet?

Yes. It works entirely offline using Bluetooth. No data plan or Wi-Fi needed.

What’s the business model?

Free for the first 1,694 users—our Founders Club. After that, it’s just $1/month. No ads. No tracking. Cancel anytime. Your attention isn’t the product—your connection is.
